thought i would share what it looks like when you introduce mature 10inch FH, with a 6-7inch mature female parrot. trying to achieve a pair here. dunno if it's gonna work, worth a shot. the female has been around me for about 5yrs now. is a proven breeder several times. this male i only had since march 07. has been all alone for a good 6months now. thought i'd try him out with new female and see how it goes.
Part 1:
Part 2:
What you guys think of that? Good stuff huh?
That is if you ok with hybrids...
This behavior "appears" to be quite hostile, but no actual fighting.... YET!!!!

He seems quite mellow there.Surprising for a FH that's been alone. She's a proven breeder ,but has he been paired before?

i have not "actually bred" him yet. i did however try to "pair" him with a couple females, but no such luck. like this introduction.
yes this is in the 110. thought i'd keep the SD"s in there for him to aggro on, instead of my female. working so far, so good. the SD"s are still quite a bit faster and more agile then him. so i think they might be ok.
i will "steel" or "rob" the nest after they hatch, and very shortly after the fries become free-swimming. i will also leave a bit of the babies with them, so they can "parent" some. that way i don't "pair bond" issues.
